This past weekend, Terri and her sisters came to my home for Terri's Trial Run. I LOVE it when brides bring someone with them for this appointment. Although I work hard to get to know every bride I work with and her makeup style, no one will know her better than her best friends, Mom or sisters.
Terri and her sisters have such a wonderful, loving relationship. Oh, I'm sure there are days they'd like to grab each other by the throat -- what sisters don't? But Becky and Sara were very supportive and helpful as we were making the final application decisions. Plus, they were "all-in" for the little "game" I like to play with a bride at her Trial Run -- everyone in the room gets to be "happy" with the makeup BEFORE the bride even gets to see it!
Thank you, Sara and Becky, for your input!
Here's Terri "Before" (she asked me if she should scowl for this picture -- she had a hard time not laughing!)
And After! (I didn't have to ask her to smile for this one!)
1) Foundation: Aside from just a couple of blemish scars, Terri has beautiful skin. Since she is not accustomed to wearing a heavy foundation on a daily basis, I suggested we use a moderate coverage mineral powder, instead of a liquid foundation. What bride wants to feel like she's wearing cake on her face? And if you're not used to the feel of liquid, that experience can be less than ideal on such an important day. But mineral powder (without Titanium Dioxide!) is a great compromise for women like Terri who have few "flaws" to correct.
2) False Lashes: We plumped Terri's lashline with short lash flares and added a bit of drama with the medium length at the outside corners.
3) Brows & Eyeshadow: A subtle amount of "smoke" on her lids and good definition of her brows make her eyes pop.
4) Lips: We decided on a much lighter color than she wears every day, so as to not compete with her beautiful eyes.
